About the Journal
Abzian-e-Zinati (Journal of Ornamental Aquatics) is a quarterly, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed scientific journal published in January, April, July, and October. The journal primarily focuses on ornamental aquatics while also publishing relevant research and educational studies in aquaculture, aquatic biology, aquatic animal nutrition and health, aquaculture systems, aquatic veterinary sciences, and aquatic environmental sciences.
The journal publishes original research articles and reviews that contribute to scientific understanding and the sustainable management of aquatic organisms and production systems. Articles are published primarily in Persian, with English titles, abstracts, and keywords to support international visibility. Selected articles may also be published in full English, subject to editorial approval and the journal's peer-review standards. Submissions from aquaculture, biology, environmental sciences, and related disciplines are welcome where they align with the journal's aims and scope.
The journal is published by Green Wave Publication in formal collaboration with the Iranian Ornamental Fish Scientific Society (IOFS). The journal operates on a non-profit basis. A publication fee is charged to support the activities of IOFS and promote scientific and professional development in ornamental aquatics. Publication fees do not influence editorial decisions or the peer-review process.
Editorial and Peer Review
- All submissions are initially screened by the editor or editorial board for relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal's requirements.
- The journal uses a double-blind peer-review system.
- Manuscripts are evaluated by qualified experts; typically, up to three reviewers may be invited, depending on the subject and editorial requirements.
- The editorial board makes the final decision, taking reviewers' reports, scientific quality, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope into account.
- Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication according to the journal's editorial and production workflow.
- The journal follows the ethical principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Open Access and Licensing
All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given to the original work and any changes are indicated.
Plagiarism and Similarity Screening
Submitted manuscripts are screened using iThenticate or equivalent similarity-detection software. Similarity reports are assessed by the editorial team in context. A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether a manuscript is acceptable; the nature, source, and extent of matching text are also considered.
Author Fees
Submission and/or publication fees, where applicable, are used to support the activities of IOFS. The applicable fee and payment requirements are communicated to authors through the journal's official instructions. Payment does not guarantee acceptance or affect editorial evaluation.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must disclose whether generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in preparing their manuscripts and describe the nature of that use when submitting their work. AI tools must not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and proper attribution of all content in their submissions, including material produced or assisted by AI tools. AI use must not replace critical scholarly judgment or result in fabricated data, references, or research findings. The editorial team may request further clarification when necessary.
