Aims and Scope
Abzian-e-Zinati (Journal of Ornamental Aquatics) was established in 2014 and is published quarterly in January, April, July, and November.
The journal aims to advance scientific knowledge in ornamental aquatics and aquatic veterinary sciences, with a primary focus on ornamental fish and other ornamental aquatic organisms. It also welcomes relevant research in the broader fields of aquatic biology, aquaculture, aquatic animal nutrition and physiology, reproduction, health and disease, genetics, aquaculture systems and technologies, aquatic ecology, and environmental management.
The journal provides a platform for:
- Publishing original research articles and high-quality reviews.
- Sharing scientific knowledge among researchers, universities, and professionals.
- Disseminating novel scientific and technological findings related to ornamental aquatics and relevant areas of aquatic biology and aquaculture.
- Promoting scientific understanding of aquatic organisms, their health and welfare, and sustainable aquaculture practices.
Research on non-ornamental aquatic species and broader aquaculture applications may be considered when it makes a relevant scientific contribution to the journal's scope and is consistent with its editorial priorities.
Editorial and Ethical Standards
The journal is managed by an Editor-in-Chief and an editorial board whose members contribute expertise in relevant scientific fields. The journal is published in collaboration with the Iranian Ornamental Fish Scientific Society (IOFS).
All submissions must be original and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to include line numbers in submitted manuscripts to facilitate peer review. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow high standards of publication ethics in accordance with the journal's policies and the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal provides open access to its published articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
